Zac and Lily
I am a mummy of two young children and I've wanted to start my own business for as long as I can remember. I am a keen baker and I have always been passionate about my involving children in food preparation and baking. I recognised that not all my mummy friends were so confident in the kitchen but their children wanted to makes things - so Zac and Lily was created.
I make all of the Zac and Lily aprons on my little sewing machine - choosing cute fabrics has to be one of my favourite tasks along with developing new recipes. There always seems to be a crowd of people willing to try out my latest bake!
I would like to develop more recipes (in particular savoury ones) for children to bake with their parents and this is how I would to see the business grow.
Managing your own business and children is tough - no doubt about it! So you need to look after yourself, this means getting adequate rest/sleep - so leave the phone/iPad downstairs at night. If it's next to your bed you CANNOT resist checking your emails at 3.00am. Now if only I could follow this advice!!
