My family are my inspiration. The four of us are my world. My husband, Caine is incredibly supportive and is an amazing father to our beautiful daughter, Eve. Eve is 8 and our miracle IVF baby. She is the reason I try to make life better for us, without compromising on the time spent with her, as much as I can. Having spent most of my working life in the Film, TV and Theatre industries, once Eve was born, the long hours of that life were no longer what I wanted. I didn't want to be working such long hours and miss out on the child I had longed for for so many years. I currently work part time with students with special educational needs, which has been amazing, but just under a year ago, the fourth member of our family arrived, our rescued Greyhound, Aston. My family was now complete. Looking around at different options for Aston, I realised that although there was a huge choice of dog beds and blankets etc on the market, varying considerably in price and quality, I would make my own for him. I had made a small collection earlier that year to raise funds for a charity I volunteer for in Tanzania, and had received some great feedback. When I was approached to be part of the set up of a local 'Pop-up' shop on my high street, I was encouraged by friends and family to create a brand of my own and see how it went, and Slumbering Hound was born.

I still work part time with the students alongside Slumbering Hound, but I hope that I will soon be able to devote myself solely to my business and gain a better work/life balance in the long run.
