The idea of the Carddies came about by chance…when Raquel started making little cardboard people and animals for her girls to colour in (Esther and Raquel used to make little cardboard dolls themselves as children). It didn't occur to Raquel initially that the idea of Carddies could have such wide appeal...
So perhaps one tip is that simply being a mum can give you ideas of how to make life with children a bit more fun/creative, and that children are the best guides of what will work well as a product.
Carddies Wedding
Carddies Wedding is a perfect take-home gift for little wedding guests. Each set features a bride and groom, best man and adult bridesmaid, and an extremely cute selection of bridesmaids and pageboys. The wedding scene to colour in is a beautiful garden featuring wedding guests plus the usual array of Carddies animals (dogs, cats, rabbits and even a peacock/peahen!). Carddies are very much driven by the child’s imagination and how they view the world. We have designed the wedding set so that it lends itself to varied scenarios to reflect different types of family. The bride and adult bridesmaid could instead be two brides, and the groom and best man two grooms or they could be aunts and uncles of the couple getting married - it is always the child who decides!
Carddies, the Card People to Colour and Go, are lovely sets of Card People who live in a box: children can colour them in, give them names, make up their stories, and bring them to life.
Each Carddies set includes 12 colouring pencils, 12 figures with stands and a backdrop, all inside a sliding box. The toy is self-contained, very portable and made from premium card: perfect for keeping children amused on any journey or outing, or for play time at home.

Made in the UK: British designed, made and assembled using materials of the highest quality. The British sourced colouring pencils (of art pencil standard) are made in Indonesia using wood from well-managed forests.
