I grew up watching my Grandma sew, but never really had any interest in it myself until I had our first daughter in 2011. I really wanted to sew a Christmas stocking for her, so I decided to teach myself using my Grandma’s old machine. I absolutely loved it and started making dresses for her. After I had our second daughter in 2013, I had a lot of encouragement from friends to turn my hobby into a business and so Little Squish was born!

My professional background is in primary teaching, so this has been very different to what I'm used to. However, I've loved every minute of it; it’s really satisfying to look at something and think “I made that”. It doesn't matter how many things I make, I still get excited by each one.

Sewing, and Little Squish, have led me to all kinds of things I never thought I’d do and my proudest achievement has to be being asked to contribute to a national sewing magazine. Not bad for someone who couldn't even thread a machine a few years back!
